Citronella oil

This fragrant grass got its name from the French word meaning “lemon balm,” due to its floral, citrus-like aroma. Obtained from the leaves and stems of this grass plant the essential oil has been extensively used for its insect repelling properties for since long. But it is just one of the many beneficial properties which can be obtained from this oil. Citronellol is the chemical compound that is responsible for the lemony herbal fragrance.
